Intended learning outcomes
After approval in the course unit, the student should have the ability to:
- model and formulate mathematical problems continuously dependent on several variables, usually time and space.
- understand the essential requirements in formulating a well-posed problem, its uniqueness, structural stability in relation to input data, and the (in)predictability inherent to the modelling of physical phenomena and practical situations.
- be prepared to discuss and analyse well-posed and ill-posed models formulated with partial differential equations.
